Kirby Brown Landscape Architects combine an art-based approach to landscape design with a considerate appreciation of the environment, providing the client with an innovative site-specific solution that doesn't cost the earth but conserves it.
Kirby Brown Landscape Architects Pty. Ltd. was established in Tasmania's northern city of Launceston in 2005, just a few minutes from the CBD.
The directors, Alvin Kirby and Michelle Kirby-Brown, have 18 years combined experience working on a diverse range of commissions for both public and private sector clients. These have included urban design strategies and masterplanning; design of public space, town squares, streetscape, parks and play areas; engineering, housing, commercial, and conservation projects; planting schemes, private gardens and the development of school grounds.
They have a proven record of successfully taking projects from inception and planning through to detailed design and contract administration until completion of projects on site.
Essential to this process is their nurturing of client relationships and close liaison with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective project management.
Michelle, a Tasmanian, met Alvin while studying at the University of Greenwich in the United Kingdom. The directors share a passion for landscapes all over the world and an eye for carefully detailed design. Direct engagement with the local people ensures that projects respond to community needs.
